Braided synthetic fibre ropes are manufactured from polymers such as polyamide (nylon), polyester, polypropylene or high-performance fibres made from polyethylene and aramid. Braided ropes are softer to the touch, produce fewer fibre residues and offer excellent flexibility whilst maintaining good strength. They are particularly suitable for applications where low elongation, ease of handling and a smooth surface are important.
